Don’t know what to do with Thanksgiving turkey leftovers? Give this twist on a french classic a whirl.
Ingredients
- 2 slices white bread
- 4 oz gruyere cheese shredded
- 4 oz thinly sliced ham or turkey
- 1 tsp stone ground or dijon mustard
- 1 tsp mayonnaise
- 1 egg
- ⅛ cup milk
- ¼ tsp vanilla
- 2 Tbsp butter
- Heidi’s Raspberry Jam for serving
- Powdered sugar (optional)
Directions
- Lightly beat egg, vanilla and milk in a shallow dish that is large enough to fit the bread. Add salt to taste.
- Assemble mustard, mayonnaise, ham, turkey, cheese, salt, and pepper to personal preference between bread slices. Slightly compress sandwich.
- Heat skillet over medium heat. Add butter, allow to melt.
- Dip and coat sandwich in egg milk mixture making sure to dip both sides.
- Place sandwich in heated skillet. Cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until browned and cheese has melted.
- Top with Heidi’s Raspberry Jam and sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
